Before we ever met our Brazilian customer face to face, they had already placed an order with us.
It started with an inquiry through our website. The customer was looking for high-tenacity polypropylene yarn for woven chairs, and that practical application became the focus of our cooperation.
We continued the conversation on WhatsApp. An order followed, then a visit to our factory in China. Today, the first batch has been shipped, and we are continuing our discussions about colors.
A Website Inquiry with a Clear Application
The customer’s inquiry brought a furniture application into the conversation from the beginning. They were buying yarn for woven chairs, rather than asking generally about everything in our product range.
For us, it is helpful to know where the material is intended to be used. A request for PP yarn becomes more specific when there is a finished product behind it. It gives us a starting point for understanding the buyer’s requirements without assuming that every yarn inquiry calls for the same product.
In woven furniture, the choice of material relates to both the production process and the appearance of the finished piece. Depending on the design, woven elements may be visible on a seat, a backrest or another part of a chair. The buyer’s requirements therefore need to reflect their particular application.
While woven chairs are the finished application, the product we supply is yarn. Buyers can describe their own processing requirements as part of an inquiry, so that the discussion is based on the material they need rather than on a photograph of a chair alone. An existing yarn reference can be useful when sourcing material for an established product.
Appearance is one part of that request. Buyers may also need to specify linear density, strength and elongation requirements, yarn form and supply format. These details give the product discussion something concrete to work from, alongside the intended use.
In this case, the purpose was clear: the customer was sourcing yarn for woven chairs. Our website gave them a way to find Shandong Okay Rope Net Co., Ltd. and begin that discussion with our team.
Continuing the Conversation on WhatsApp
After the initial inquiry, we continued communicating on WhatsApp. The contact that began through a website could now continue directly between the customer and our team.
A product page is a useful introduction, but it cannot cover every buyer’s circumstances. Someone sourcing material for furniture may have questions that differ from those of a buyer working on another application. Direct contact leaves room for those questions rather than asking the buyer to make a decision from a catalogue description alone.
Our high-tenacity PP multifilament yarn range provides a starting point for discussing the product. The next step is to relate the available options to the buyer’s requirements, including the yarn specification, color and supply format.
We prefer to keep those discussions practical. If a buyer has an existing specification or a reference sample, it can help describe what they are looking for. If some details are still open, those can be identified and discussed before an order is agreed.
The conversations with our Brazilian customer led to their first order. We were pleased to have the opportunity to supply yarn for their woven-chair application, even though we had not yet met in person.
Welcoming Our Brazilian Customer to the Factory
The customer later travelled to China and visited our factory. Their reason for coming was straightforward: they wanted to see the product quality in person.
The order was already in place when the visit happened. We were therefore welcoming someone with whom we had begun working, rather than meeting a prospective buyer for the first time before any purchase.
For our team, it was a pleasure to meet the customer behind the WhatsApp conversations. Until then, the relationship had taken place through an online inquiry, messages and an order. Now there was an opportunity to meet at the factory.
We appreciate the time involved in travelling from Brazil to China. A supplier’s website can be opened in a moment; visiting the supplier means making a much larger commitment of time and arranging the journey.
The customer made that journey to look at the quality firsthand. That was the purpose of the visit, with the woven-chair application already established as the reason for buying the yarn.We were glad to welcome them to the place behind the company name they had found online. It is one of the enjoyable parts of working with overseas customers: an exchange that begins remotely can eventually lead to a face-to-face meeting.
The First Batch Has Been Shipped
Following the factory visit, the first batch of yarn has now been dispatched.
We are grateful to the customer for choosing to work with us. The cooperation has progressed from an inquiry to an order, a factory visit and the shipment of material for their woven-chair application.
For our team, there is satisfaction in seeing an initial inquiry develop into an actual supply relationship. The product is no longer only something being discussed on a page or in a message; the first batch has been sent.
Our conversations have continued after dispatch. We are now talking about colors, keeping the same furniture application at the center of the discussion. This is where the story currently stands. The first shipment has gone out, and there are further choices to work through with the customer.
Now We Are Talking About Colors
The customer is currently selecting colors for their woven-chair application.
Color brings a different kind of detail into the conversation. A yarn can be described by its specification, but its shade is something the buyer also needs to see and compare.
For woven furniture, color may need to work with a chair frame, other materials or the overall appearance of a design. Those choices belong to the buyer’s product plans. Our role is to discuss the yarn options and help make the requested shade clear.
A description such as “red” or “gray” can cover many different shades. A photograph is helpful for beginning the discussion, but two people may see it on different screens and under different lighting conditions.
Where a particular shade is required, a shared color reference or an agreed physical sample gives both sides something more definite to work from. It helps move the conversation beyond a general color name.
It is also useful to keep the color reference attached to the correct yarn specification. If several shades are being considered, identifying each reference clearly makes it easier to return to the same option and discuss an adjustment without confusing it with another color.
The buyer and supplier can then agree how the requested match will be assessed. This keeps a photograph used for an initial discussion from being mistaken for the final approved reference.
These are practical points we welcome discussing with buyers. They do not need to be settled through a single message, and a question about a shade is worth taking the time to clarify. For our Brazilian customer, color selection is the current part of the conversation. We are continuing to work through the options together, following the first shipment.
What to Share When Sourcing Yarn for Woven Chairs
This cooperation has also given us an opportunity to introduce our yarn to buyers interested in furniture applications.
If you are sourcing a similar material, it helps to begin with the intended use rather than only a product name. Tell us that the yarn is for woven chairs and share the requirements you already have.
An existing yarn specification, reference sample or clear product requirement can make the discussion more useful. Color preferences, the form of supply, packaging needs and approximate purchasing quantity can then be considered alongside the application.
For technical requirements, use the property and unit you need rather than relying on the phrase “high tenacity” alone. This gives our team a clearer basis for reviewing the request and explaining the available options.
We welcome questions at the inquiry stage. Buyers do not need to leave an uncertain detail unmentioned; identifying it gives both sides something specific to discuss.
