Braided polyester rope is more abrasion resistant and stretches less than comparable nylon lines.It holds up better than nylon when exposed to sunlight, and is almost as strong. And it has better dielectric properties (is less likely to conduct current) than nylon.On the other hand, it does not absorb shock loads as well as nylon and its dielectric properties are not as good as those of polypropylene. 12 strand diamond braid and double braided polyester are used by tree care, roofing, window washing, and rigging contractors as vertical lifelines in fall protection systems, and by tower builders as guy lines.

Also known as braided on braided polyester. This rope is actually two braided ropes combined into one rope. A braided core is covered with a braided jacket to produce a strong and easy to handle rope. It is spliceable and provide a excellent combination of high strength and low stretch.  In comparison with polyamide cords, polyester cords are softer and more flexible in wet condition. It is therefore a popular general -purpose rope in the boating industry, such as mooring lines, anchor lines etc. Polyester is one kind of synthetic material and has an excellent resistance to UV and abrasion, polyester is unaffected by water.  This combination of properties means that polyester is the material used in protective cover braids as well as in pure polyester ropes.  Polyester has a density of 1.38, melting point of 260 deg C and an extension to break of about 12%.
